Bring Our Troops Home From Iraq Now

Now that the Iraqi people have asked for a pullout timetable (a respectful way of saying "please leave") shouldn't we really be looking for ways to accommodate them?

Setting aside whether you believe we were justified in going to Iraq, it is clear we are caught in the crossfire of a civil war. Our presence their only serves to inflame that conflict and get American's killed.

It't time for Congress to step up, support the troops, and redeploy them to a winnable, effective mission. Or in the case of the many National Guard, bring them home to their civilian jobs and their role as local Guardians.

Hello,

As a Veteran and friend of the Earth, I would like to plead with all my fellow citizens to vote Green this Election to promote Social, Economic and Enviromental Justice. I wish well to all candidates regardless of political affiliation, because their success altimately should mean success for all the people.

Thank you, Matthew Pierce

I have supported Adam Schiff (CA-29th) for many years, and he has done a lot for our area over those years, but I fear he has been away too long and has lost touch with voters here in this district.

During this last term Rep. Schiff has been supportive of the failed war policy in Iraq, has said little about and done less to oppose the use of torture, indefinite jail without charges warrantless wiretaps, and other Bush policies people of both parties in this district deplore.

We need a strong voice to stand up in Congress and say "No More" to the Bush administration. We need to send a strong message to the country, too, which we can do by supporting Bill Paparian in the 29th Congressional District.

Paparian will caucus with the Democrats, so will never be a spoiler -- but will be a strong independent voice in Congress. Each vote for Bill Paparian, the former Mayor of Pasadena, will send a clear message nationally too: No More!

Rep. Schiff has let us down enough. I met with him before the Iraq war with a group of concerned constituents and told him our worries of the quagmire disaster it is today.

Our country is not acting like a democracy anymore. Human rights and a democratic form of government are not being protected anymore. I am voting for Bill Paparian for Congress. As a democrat I am disgusted with the impotence and immorality of my Democratic legislators I am joining the Green Party.

The Iraq people overwhelmingly want US Troops out of Iraq and the democratically elected leaders of Iraq told president Bush that they want US Troops to leave Iraq. The presence of US Troops are doing more to inflame fighting than prevent it. It's time for our troops to come home.

This is not a partisan issue. Whether Republican, Democrat, Greens, Libertarian or whatever, Americans are increasingly uniting in our opposition to the Iraq War, and in support of immediate withdrawal of our troops. Americans are finally realizing that the "Support Our Troops" pro-war rally call should be translated as "Bring Them Home Now". I urge you pay attention to this majority of Americans, who feel that our tax dollars are being wasted for no good reason, in support of this costly war machine. Bring them home now!
